Our cycle hike stopped for an hour and a half at Blackrock Castle Observatory, to learn about stars and the universe.

This year, the 40th Cubs voted to go to the cinema for their Christmas party. The film they chose was Puss in Boots !

This year our orienteering competition was held in Glenbower Woods in Killeagh. The course was longer than previous years taking about 90 minutes to complete.

The 40th Cork won the Cork South County Quiz for the second year in a row after a close finish. The event took place in Franfield and the 40th Cubs \'A\' Team won after a tie breaker round with Blackrock

This was our first visit for many years to the Fire Station in Anglesea Street. We were delighted with our tour which showed us all the fire appliances and all the equipment that the fire fighters use when they are called out.

Our overnight activity to Kilcully included a campfire, bamboo pioneering - making a aquaduct, fire lighting, backwoods cooking and a compass trail !

As part of our Ancient Rome theme, tonight (3rd Oct) we decidesd to built catapults and see how far we could fire items from them ! Each calnn had to build their own

On this trip to Currabinny Woods (2nd Oct), we practiced map reading, built shelters, made bows and arrows and did a Gladiator contest with baloons!

Our final activity of the 2010/11 scouting year was our BBQ. The BBQ was preceeded by a water fight, whihc was great fun.

Our summer hike took us along part of the Kerry Way from Galwey\'s bridge to Torc Waterfall in Killarney. We stopped at Corrs Cascade for lunch.

Our Investiture took place after a tour of the National Maritime College of Ireland in Ringaskiddy.

The popcorn project showed that you can build a mini oven and using a nighlight and some oil, you can make your own popcorn!

We made hot chicken wraps and chocolate marshmallow kebabs

Night hike from town to Monsktown Pier via Kent Station, Carrigaloe and Glenbrook.

40th Cubs finish in 1st and 4th Place in County Quiz, held in Frankfield on 11th February 2011.

Overnight in Kilcully Campsite

This year our cycling hike took us from the Scout Hall along the Marina, to Blackrock Castle, Along the public walk and onto the old railway line and back to the hall. We had a couple of stops including a break at the Atlantic Pond and one at St michael Stores in Mahon.
